Sarah Jane Estes

I am a womens wear designer living in Orange County, California. I recently relocated from my home in Lexington, Kentucky. I got my start in fashion with a t-shirt design project I created with a group of friends in High School. This first venture into the world of fashion really helped me realize my dream of becoming a designer. Upon graduation I went on to study fashion design at the International Academy of Design and Technology in Nashville, TN. Less than a year after starting my fashion program I ended up moving back to my home state of Kentucky to attend the University of Kentucky for Fine Arts. In 2009 I was introduced to a young women who transformed my life and my dreams forever. She was on the verge of creating an organization that brought local fashion artists together and created a platform for their talents. These days I serve as the Co-Chairman of this rapidly growing grass roots organization that is now known as the Lexington Fashion Collaborative. The group has given me the opportunity to be a leader in my community, expand my portfolio, and make lasting connections with some very talented people. As for my design work, you will consistently see my nod to vintage and classic styles. I am drawn to strong yet feminine looks that empower women to be their confident self.
