Sara Lynn Sterling

Sara Lynn Sterling is a Brooklyn-based artist. She grew up outside of Kansas City where she developed a passion for photography very early on. As she moved from Minneapolis to Chicago, she continued to make time for her photos while studying medicine to become a physician assistant. Sara Lynn has always taken pictures in each of her homes and during her travels, but finds she is most inspired by Brooklyn. Sara Lynn’s work hangs in many cities across the US, but recently was shown at a Fiercely Curious gallery show in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Sara Lynn captures the subtle beauty in life’s everyday patterns and light’s ability to enhance an otherwise familiar image. Her film and digital photographs evoke emotions in overlooked stillness. Recently she has begun to personalize these photographs with mixed media in a series titled, ‘String Theory’. In these pieces, geometric patterns augment industrial Brooklyn landscapes and create a one of a kind piece from her digital image.
