Beauty – Santa Monica

I am going to spare you the boring details of my life by explaining how I got into the make-up industry and begin by telling you the raw truth. When I was three years old my best friend was not a teddy bear, nor was it an imaginary friend, it was my red lipstick. I carried my red lipstick around with me everywhere I went, no matter where I was my tiny little hands were always clutched onto my lipstick. Without it, I would cry and scream hysterically. For some reason when I didn’t have my lipstick with me I didn’t feel safe and I would burst into tears until I had it back in the palm of my hands. I felt secure with it, even at three years old, it created some sort of safety zone for me. I grew up with a strong connection towards make-up and the artistic abilities and creativity it allowed me to express: to be able to paint a blank canvas and see the transformation that I created is truly the best feeling I’ve experienced. Being a self-taught artist in the beauty industry for almost two years now, I have learned that in order to succeed you must have confidence and believe in yourself. Yes, this may sound cliché but it’s true. If the artist doesn’t believe in her/himself – who will? This industry has taught me to strive and reach, for any goal I want to accomplish through confidence, devotion, and a little word called faith. My career as a make-up artist is my life, my soul, my sanity, and my one and only passion. I have learned one important thing about myself; I want to learn, create, and inspire others with my make-up brush. I have discovered this unfathomable passion I have with make-up, which makes me want to wake up everyday and paint a new canvas, discover new tricks, learn new techniques and so on. My art is the one thing that keeps me glued together, without it I may have fallen to pieces by now. Make-up is my creative outlet, it has made me become who I am today, because of it I am strong. It truly saved me from my own self-destruction. I am so grateful to be a part of RAW and for them allowing me to expressive myself artistically! RAW has opened up many doors for me and I cannot thank them enough! I've been a Resident Make-Up Artist For RAW Hollywood since February 2011 and I have also had the pleasure of working with RAW Pomona & Santa Monica. I will continue to learn and bloom in my craft and do whatever it takes to inspire others to follow their dreams.
