Kybele Dance Theater (KDT) is a professional dance company dedicated to present original works with a cutting-edge multicultural approach, purposing to awaken the audience through fusing theatrical and contemporary dance with Turkish imagery, accenting forgotten moments of life. KDT would like to bring contemporary dance to a larger community of all ages and all the backgrounds, that is willing to give a try to the “new” and “unknown”. Founded by the Artistic Director and Choreographer Seda Aybay (2003), KDT currently has 8 company dancers and offers full evening programs, mixed repertory work, educational performances and festivals. The diverse company repertory contains different styles, subjects, lengths of work that is created to inspire, think, and educate the audience. The company has toured and presented Seda Aybay's different works in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Fresno, Concord, San Jose, Palm Desert, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and New York.  For more info on Kybele Dance Theater please visit Artistic Director & Choreographer Seda Aybay Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, Aybay is Kybele Dance Theater's (KDT) founder, artistic director and choreographer (2003). Seda has produced and choreographed multiple works with KDT/ Los Angeles, which won her choreography awards from Dance Under the Stars Festival and MAD BAD Festival. Her work had been toured and presented in Los Angeles, Long Beach, Fresno, Concord, San Jose, Palm Desert, San Diego, San Francisco, New York, and Seattle. As an independent artist, Aybay also has been invited to choreograph for LACSA, Santa Monica Collage, Praxis Project, Cerritos College, Pierce College, Spectrum, and Why Dance. She performed with the "Synapse Dance Theatre," "Folklorico de SMC," "Ney Nava," Liliana de Leon Torsiello, Alex De Silva, "Praxis Project," Lion's Pounce Theater, Lula Washington Dance Theater, Magan and Jefferey Hornaday, Reggie Brown, Kin Dance, Bethune Theatre Danse, Pradigm Dance Theater. She was featured as a dancer on KTLA channel 9, Univision Kmex34, and Fox11 as performer.
