SEPHYR

SEPHYR (Sam Richmond) is an electronic musician from Edmonton, Alberta. Trained classically on the piano by the Royal Conservatory of Music from a young age, SEPHYR started composing his own music in 2014, using local electronic shows and DJing house parties as inspiration for building his sound. SEPHYR became the inaugural graduate of Night Vision Music Academy(Edmonton) in 2017 and recently received a degree in Music Production & Sound Engineering from Point Blank Music School. SEPHYR presents his talent on the keys as the centrepiece of his live act, encompassing the piano with punchy drums, nostalgic break beats, polyrhythmic textures, sharp vocal sampling, and searing guitar riffs, all invoking a visceral awareness to the powers of nature; at times fierce & at times calm. SEPHYR continues to develop his sound, explore new genres, and create anthemic tracks made to transport the listener to the wide open spaces of our world. SEPHYR will be debuting his forthcoming EP - 'The Eternal Now - LIVE' as well as curating the evening's music with tracks from local producers and the songs/sounds that inspired the EP. -
