Louise is a multi-disciplinary professional stitcher with expertise spanning 17 years. Beginning as a costume sewist at Disney World and in tv and film, in Florida, Louise worked their way up to teaching sewing in the Garment District in NYC, and then working on collections for NY Fashion Week. After becoming the lead stitcher for a prominent fashion house out of Boston, Louise worked for numerous northeastern brands, including leather bags, snowboarding apparel and accessories, knitwear, and more. Louise eventually opened their own business producing small batch manufacturing for these brands, and also became a workroom leader at two sewing factories. Now, Louise is a tailor and sewing teacher at the sustainable fashion collective, The Nest, in Providence, and aims to open their own sewing workforce training center and creative sewing hub, the Rhode Island Sewing Center.
