Performing Art – Boston

Seyyide Sultan is well-known in the New England area as a teacher, choreographer and performer of Egyptian Raks Sharqi (commonly known as "belly dance" or oriental dance) for many years. She has produced, directed, choreographed and performed for oriental dance staged shows: “Helwa! From Cairo to Boston”, “Eastern Journey”, "Dancing Fire" and "An Oasis in your Eyes". She has participated in theatrical productions as well as festivals, numerous cultural events and benefits, and has extensive experience performing at Middle Eastern clubs and restaurants and weddings. Seyyide was a member of two prestigious dance companies (Amir Thaleb’s “Arabian Dance Company” in Buenos Aires, 2000, and Ahmet’s Luleci “Collage” in 2001) and is now the manager, artistic director and choreographer of her own Sarab-Mirage Dance Company, which has been very active since the beginning of 2015. She has been teaching oriental dance for many years independently, and also mentoring and teaching special programs for some institutions such as Pingree High School and Boston University Student Activity center, and workshops at some regional and national events.
