Visual Art – Pittsburgh

I was born in Iran under a dying monarchy and before I had comprehension of such things, a cloud of Theocracy spread through the land & changed our way of life. Filled with the wish of a better future for my brother and I, my parents found a way out and moved us away from the rising turmoil to Austria, Vienna, the heart of Europe. In Vienna I was introduced to Art Nouveau and it really spoke to me. This experience helped further develop my visual vocabulary; and although still very young, started my own path towards art. The journey took me to the United States where I’ve lived most of my adult life. I studied art formally at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. There I gained the tools to turn my lifelong visions into a tangible form. Now I reside in Pittsburgh\'s South Side and along with Tim Meehan, & Dan Vogel founded the “Conservatory of Oil Painting”, formally known as “Academy of the South Side”; an art school focusing on oil painting and drawing figures for beginning and established artists alike. Teaching has been very rewarding to me and I've met many amazing artists during our years of instruction. For more of my Artwork please visit ArtFiend.net
