Photography – Houston
My name is Steve Irwin, no relation to the crocodile hunter, but I do love animals and the outdoors. I am a photographer based in Clearlake that is passionate about Texas and what’s in our backyard that no one has ever seen. I specialize in landscape and nightscape astrophotography. My wife is the whole reason I got into photography. She wanted me to get outdoors more so we started hiking. We would go to areas that were so serene that I wanted to capture it and bring it home with me. This lead to more road tripping and discovery of the outdoors. I am a member of the Houston Astronomy Society and volunteer of the Houston Huts 4 Mutts non-profit to help dogs in impoverished communities. I have a wonderful, creative, and beautiful wife, Dee, and 2 rescue dogs, Loki and Goldie, that are spoiled to the bone. What I want people to feel when they look at my photos is the drama, excitement, and awe of our experiences. When I see landscapes I think of the history of the land and who doesn’t know this exists? When I shoot the stars. I think of how small we are in the universe and how limitless our possibilities are.
