Charles Smith II, creative director of SMITH II based out of Dallas,Tx was born and raised in New York,NY. Starting his fashion industry journey as a professional male model signed with Elite Model Management since the age of 14, where he was given his break in the high fashion community to walk for the brands of Ermenegildo Zegna, Gucci, Fendi, Y-3, Calvin Klein,Giorgio Armani, June J and also being shot by Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of CHANEL, for his art photography. Residing in Milan,Italy from 14 to 16 years of age he gained a european style of aesthetic and design from first hand experience within the industry. Charles has walked in Mercedes Benz Fashion Week New York,Miami, Berlin, London, Paris & Milan. After experiencing years of being in the industry and always observing and adsorbing every bit of knowledge and information that he can, allowed him to transition into fashion design for menswear & womenswear ready-to-wear and haute couture skill set for his brand, SMITH II. His eye for design reaches beyond the fabrics and is a craftsmanship and art form of expression and also having a formula of portraying his vision in a sense of broad ranges from both young and more mature clients. He has dressed fashion notables within the high fashion industry circle but for client privacy purposes cannot be named. But also a few known celebrities have taken a liking to his amazing eye for design, such as Rev Run’s daughter Angela Simmons, Chris Brown’s girlfriend Karrueche Tran and also Lenny Kravitz daughter Zoe Kravitz just to name a few. Also being personally invited to attend Spring/Summer 2014 Ready -To-Wear and Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week presentations as a spectator at Chanel, Celine, Giambattista Valli, John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent, Givenchy & Rick Owens. Also getting invitation for the first show that the house of CHANEL has ever had in America that took place in Dallas,Tx at Fair Park for Chanel annual Metiers D’Art show. So having both hands on experience as well as the opportunity as a spectator to watch creative vision at a professional level has inspired and influence his aesthetic in design. And his genuine love for the art of fashion and the art of expression and the people that influence him has also made him a person of personal development to his peers and friends on passing his knowledge of his continuously learning experience on to others who take interest in what it takes to navigate the fashion world and making the world a more beautiful place to look at one human at a time and one day at a time.Besides his talent for design and aesthetic his core talent comes from knowing how people tic and also being able to bring peoples personality out and getting those comfortable enough to be who they are and making those features stand out and making them realize that greatness comes from passion and desire and a will to demand the things that you want but also realizing that through dedication and motivation anything is possible through sacrifices in order to gain success.
