Visual Art – Melbourne
Steph is a self-taught artist and creative with a background in Graphic Design. Based in Melbourne, she has held a passion for art and painting for many years. In her earlier years she spent her school holidays locked in her parents' shed sitting behind a canvas with paint brush in hand.
More recently she has developed a style of her own and created a true personal connection with her art through abstract expressionism. She describes her paintings as 'landscapes of the soul' where her aim is to express pure and raw emotion. Her process involves disconnecting from all predetermined ideas of what the final artwork will look like, and allowing the paints and inks take control of the final piece.
Her fluid lines and expressive movement speaks of contrast and harmony, joy and grief, peace and anxiety, and how these dichotomies come together to form the intricate tapestry of life.
