Story by Lexi

Fashion – Denver

I am inspired by so many things from graffiti to anime and anything fantasy (Mucha and Micheal Parks art my favorite artists). But what moves my heart the most is the grace and femininity of the retro '40s and '50s. I have been sewing since I was knee-high to a bee’s eye. Receiving my first and only stitches by way of a cheeky little sock doll. When I was a little girl my mother gave me the serendipitous nickname Lexi bobbins (part of a sewing machine). As my divine guidance would have it, I became a seamstress and designer. As a teenager, I began altering thrift store clothing, making dresses from scraps and gluing together my own belly dance costumes. I knew I had to follow my undying passion and hone my technical skills by attending FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) in San Francisco where I graduated in 2007. With a technical background in a variety of skills, I began a design partnership lasting 3 collections and 3 years (one of my lucky numbers). Now ready to shout with my own single voice I am taking my lessons and writing them into Story LLC.
