STYLE NATION ARTISTRY

Visual Art – Houston

Bianca Pullum-Burns, was born and raised in the small town of Marshall, TX. At the age of 6, her God-given talent began to emerge. Her fascination with Marvel comic books, Looney Tunes, and other childhood cartoon characters sparked the beginnings of her gift in the visual arts. Mostly self-taught Bianca spent countless hours as a child repeatedly practicing different drawing techniques, trying to mimic the illustrations she fell in love with. Bianca later went on to pursue her Bachelors of Science degree at Stephen F. Austin State University, double majoring in Fashion Merchandising and Fine Art. Bianca's current fascination lies within the black culture: "Black culture to me is not just about African American people but people of color worldwide. Black culture can be seen all over the world and our beauty, struggles, stories, and evolution inspire me daily. This is why I chose the name Style Nation Artistry. "As an artist I don't want to limit myself to a specific way of creating art. I like to be able to create freely and use a variety of media to express my thoughts and visions. The word 'Style' when spoken, makes a person automatically think of something that is universal because style pulls from different walks of life."
