Sydney Alexis Hall is an actress, advocate, artist and performer. She does cyr wheel, hoop dance, modern dance, pole dance and is a former competitive black belt, certified yogi, public speaking and speech writing enthusiast, and she shyly plays some ukulele (singing occasionally). She previously was among the first to graduate Howard University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Humanities: Ancient to Modern, with a Concentration in Art, Archaeology, and Language as well as a Minor in Art History. Her language study background includes French and Mandarin which she is working to perfect. She is an artist in acrylic paint, pastel, welding, sculpture, charcoal, graphite, mixed media, watercolor, and ink. Sydney is a cultural enthusiast with a passion for entrepreneurship and service to others-- given to her by her parents and grandmother. Since age 12 she has been passionate about giving back to her community through volunteerism and the arts. In 2015, prior to being crowned Miss District of Columbia Sweetheart 2015, she ran with her family an after school girls empowerment program, teaching girls about mindfulness and self-actualization through the arts and meditation. She has also previously devoted herself to causes surrounding hunger, animal rights, the fight against human trafficking, documentary screening and global advocacy, equality, public speaking and leadership (Toastmasters International). Sydney is also a motorcycle enthusiast with big dreams of making motorcycle attire a "bit more fashionable". Sydney often enjoys blogging and screenwriting in her spare time. She aspires to use her passions and career ambitions to make a lasting global impact.
