Visual Art – Dallas - Fort Worth

As a kid I got in trouble for things like daydreaming and coloring on walls, so I thought I’d find a way to get paid for it instead. My work is full of subtle juxtaposition; boldly-soft; abstractly-detailed; eclectic, but, you know, in a relatable way. Maybe it was all the hair band music I was exposed to as a child. Maybe it was the five year streak when I dressed up as a pirate for Halloween. Either way, I fell in love with the blending of contrasting things. Masculine and feminine, hard and soft, leather and silk; basically, I’m a walking contradiction. Drew Barrymore, in her role as Danielle in Ever After says to Leonardo Da Vinci “A bird may love a fish, signore, but where will they live?” Da Vinci replies “Then I shall have to make you wings.” I love Drew Barrymore, I love that movie, but most of all, I love that quote! To me, it sums up what I am constantly attempting with my art. I want to make a world where all the wonderfully, contradictory things I adore can hang out with each other and you!
