Visual Art – Brisbane
I was born in Brisbane Queensland Australia and have spent my childhood and a lot of my adulthood in Darwin Northern Territory Australia and moved back to Brisbane and have lived here for the last 18 years.
I am academically trained - I completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1996 majored in photography and minor in Printing and in 2000 completed my Certificate IV Foundation in Graphic Design, both at Northern Territory University – called Charles Darwin University today but life never goes to plan and other commitments took over - children, work, money requirements, moved to another state and marriage status etc - but I never stopped creating art and encouraging my now adult children to be creative and aware of the images of the world around them. Now I have found a new medium (not that I don't do the other mediums and still love photography and painting) Block Printing - started with a 1/2 day workshop and now I am craving (rubber not vinyl anymore so much easier) and inking A4 size print. My images maybe prints but each print is done by hand and are never the same, may look similar but are not and then I may colour them by hand. So each print becomes their own unique picture.
