I hated gardening as a child. It was the dirt, really. And the bugs. And all of those hot summer days when mom had us planting and pulling weeds. Plants and flowers were beautiful but they were a chore. It wasn’t until I become an adult that I began to view plants as a decorating medium. Theory Beyond Design was established in Lexington, KY in 2014 but it didn’t become an outlet for houseplant decor until 2018. Now, I create modern decor accessories that allow you to easily put the beauty of plants on display. I primarily design stands and hangers for propagation but I also design for air plants and more mature plants as well. My favorite materials include wood, metal, glass, and concrete but you’ll also find things like leather and acrylic in my pieces. Plants are works of living art and Theory Beyond Design is my way of turning that art into your sanctuary.
