Theresa Burkes

Visual Art – Boise

Theresa Burkes is a printmaker and mixed-media artist living and working in Boise, Idaho. Her monoprints are made with non-toxic Akua inks using a stenciling process. She frequently embeds fragments of those prints in encaustic paintings, paintings made with pigmented beeswax. She has recently participated in several exhibitions of the Treasure Valley Artists Alliance, a small works exhibition at the Lisk Gallery in Boise, a solo exhibition of her work as part of Boise’s Artist in Residence program in 2012, an exhibition shared with watercolorist Andrea Harris at the Initial Point Gallery in Meridian, the 4th Annual Idaho Falls Arts Council Juried Competition, and Artists in the Garden, McCall Arts and Humanities Council. Theresa teaches workshops in printmaking and encaustic painting. She is pursuing a BFA at Boise State University with an emphasis in Drawing and Painting.
