Performing Art – San Diego
Alyssa Root was raised in the SF-Bay Area and moved to San Diego in 2006. Growing up, Alyssa started as a gymnast, which lead her to exploring dance world, training in jazz, Irish step dancing, tap, and hip hop. She started exploring other types of art at 14 with painting, and mixed media. In 2014, Alyssa rejoined the dance scene and has since danced with Afta Shock Dance Troupe, The DREAMers Project, and Alpha Bots. She spent time on multiple side projects, and spent two years as staff for Body Rock Dance Competition. Her passion in working with youth lead her to be the Director of the Tot Bots Dance Crew for two years and co-own the Robotix Dance Family until Spring 2018.
Alyssa has also been able to showcase her paintings at various events, charity auctions, and online. She has been commissioned for various pieces and loves to use her art to show more of the vulnerability and beauty of the the human body.
In addition to dance, Alyssa focuses her energy on wellness and empowering women through her personal brand, The Rooted Warrior
