Tiki Jay One

Tiki Jay One is an LA based Urban Landscapist/Commercial Designer and is currently living in Las Vegas Nevada. Tiki Jay One is a graduate of Otis College of Art and Design, received a bachelor of fine arts in Industrial/Product Design. While maintaining a formal education in art as well as a career as a commercial designer and Instructor (Art Institute of Las Vegas), Tiki Jay One is primarily interested in creating urban works within the fabric of the urban landscape. As a commercial Designer Tiki Jay has worked for companies such as Disney Store(Hardline design toys), Guess?( Store Planner),Remo Drums(Design), Bravado(Graphic Design), and is currently working freelance graphics for State Senate hopeful Mari Nakashima St. Martin, as well as a number of other clients in the design field. Artist Statement: By not limiting oneself to any single medium one is left with an open mind and room for growth. Being an artist means taking risks, this manifests itself in the process in which “urban landscaping” is conducted. The urban artist risks, life, limb, and freedom when on duty. Most believe there is an “art war” in the streets, but I disagree the city is an urban gallery for creating and displaying art without the need for a traditional Western European standard. The end result should be work untouched by the “buff” due to the artist’s efforts. Tiki Jay One
