It wasn’t long after writing her first poem that Tina B competed in poetry slams and won her first competition in 2007. Then, she soon became a member of Houston’s 2008 Slam Team and was featured as “Artist of the Week” in Houston Press Magazine in 2009. By 2010, she began opening for major recording artists such as J. Cole and MC Lyte, and has performed in events across the nation such as P4CM’s “Rhetoric” in Los Angeles, the Moody Bible Institute’s “Legacy Conference” in Chicago, Joe Solomon’s “TheCanvas” in Houston, AJ McQueen’s “Writer’s Block” in Houston, and more. Tina B specializes in writing and performing custom poems for any occasion. She was a featured artist in SXSW and she has appeared on ESPN, NBC, KCEN, leading radio stations in various cities, luxury weddings, distinguished corporate events, and other special occasions through her work with custom poetry. She’s even performed for the Texas A&M’s 2011 NCAA National Championship Team as well as the highly prestigious Aggie 100 Award ceremony that celebrates the fastest growing companies from around the world in various industries, including Oil & Gas, Engineering, and Medicine. Tina B is a businesswoman, entrepreneur, artist, and founder of both Tina B Poetry and Heartspeaks Romance Poetry, creating custom experiences for any occasion. She ranks among the greats in the spoken word community as she travels the country to share her gift.
