Photography – Indianapolis

Troy Holleman a photographer and installation artist was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana in April 13, 1992. Early in his life he attended Whitney Young Elementary School an arts magnet school in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he was introduced to things like acting, sculpture, music and other cultures and their languages. Prior to pursuing photography he had an outstanding career in moto-cross being Indiana State Indoor Champion three times consecutively (2004,2005, and 2006), and Hoosier State Series Champion (2006). This discipline and professionalism he obtained in his prior career carries over into his art practice today. He is currently going into his senior year at the Herron School of Art & Design in Indianapolis, Indiana for Photography. He has shown work at the Conspiracy Boutique (Fort Wayne, Indiana), Indie Indy Artist Colony (Indianapolis, Indiana), The Gray Room Gallery (Indianapolis, Indiana), and is scheduled to show in an exhibition at the Attic Gallery (Indianapolis, Indiana) opening July 4th, 2014. His influences range from photographers like Ralph Eugene Meatyard to installation artist Ed Kienholz. Adopting Meatyard’s way of photographing people with masks over their faces to unify us all as one people having one identity. Troy experiments with pairing installation art with photographic images. He attempts to immerse the viewer in an architectural space that is mysterious and nostalgic. The photographs are performative documentations.
