Troy Winscott
Troy Winscott determined his fate early on in life. At the wise age of fifteen, when asked by his parents what path he wanted to dedicate his life to, he replied, “Jewel thief”. Fortunately for us, his second choice, “artist”, was to become his calling.
That was the year he began classes at the Art Institute of Houston. He went on to study Scuplture at Texas State in Waco, before returning to the Art Institute to pursue Illustration.
Troy has spent the past fourteen years in Albuquerque, New Mexico, doing free-lance illustration and designing jewelry. Returning to Houston in 2006, he has worked on large-scale sculptures for Exxon Mobil and the Houston Zoo. Most recently he has developed his own rendition of the screen printing process, which combines his loves of illustration and printing.
