Vanessa Jodie, an American singer songwriter born September 07, 1991 as Vanessa Jodie Mellish, Liberian, West Indian, Jamaican descendant, in Raleigh, NC and raised in Washington DC, currently residing in Atlanta, GA started her love for music through her sudden interest for the piano. As she learned how to read music, she would write her own notes. By age 11, Ms. Jodie was writing lyrics in hopes of becoming a star one day. She released her first debut single, “Touch My Body” in June 2020 and collaborated on a remake of Pop Smoke “Welcome to the Party.” Vanessa Jodie has also released a second single “Leave You” in September 2020 and third single “Rolie Polie” in 2021. Ms. Jodie has shown the world that she can create a new lane of R&B with a newfound twist to Hip Hop with her single “Shake It Up” (released November 2022). Falling back into her natural soft vocal sensual sound with her latest release “Fall Back” (released May 2024), hitting thousands of playlist in the first week. Her influences are Whitney Houston, Monica, Mariah Carey and Tamia. Through her music, Vanessa hopes to inspire others and has no plans on stopping and we can continue to see her releasing music and performing at future musical events.
