Visual Art – Toronto

Veronica Blanco is an artist who concentrates in painting and drawing. She received her BFA with Honours in Visual Arts from York University in the spring of 2014. Since graduation, she has exhibited work in various galleries including most recently the Super Wonder Gallery, in Toronto. Her solo exhibition “Presence” was visited by the former Mississauga Mayor, Hazel McCallion. Her work captures couples in passionate and intimate moments. She creates metaphors for emotions through colour and expressive movement. Hardly ever using a paintbrush, she paints her large acrylic paintings with her fingers to add sensuality to the work. In February 2015, after one day of displaying her collection in a public library, her work was taken down because it was deemed “too explicit.” This incident has only increased her drive and she continues to exhibit in as many venues as she can.
