Craft – Halifax
Kyrsten Collyer is the craftsperson behind 'Wool You Dare'. She is a self-taught yarn spinner with an interdisciplinary fine art degree from NSCAD in Halifax NS, during which she explored textiles, craft and drawing. She was drawn to textiles, and especially spinning and dying yarn both due to the meditative and traditional nature of the medium, as she, along with many craftspeople, artists and knitters, strive to bring mental and physical balance into their lives. 'Wool You Dare' serves as both a reminder and challenge...to dare to live the kind of live that brings you joy, celebrates your strengths and remembers our history.
