Fashion – San Antonio

Zita Barbara is a singer/songwriter, make-up artist, painter, and fashion designer that translates her art into original fashion work. In the past RAW features she has utilized RAW shows to showcase her music through fashion. She believes in "sharing the spotlight" with the local San Antonio fashion community in order to grow opportunities to model. Her first shows with RAW were a collaboration between local designers - sometimes international - which featured her own work alongside designs provided by a show sponsor: local boutique "Bonita Natural." Every show is a mixture of talent coming together to support Zita on stage while she sings her original music that she produces for her fashion shows. In the past, she has showcased her make-up art or even oil paintings to display her dynamic array of talent. Currently, she is working with new sponsors to develop more "unique" shows. She graduated from University of Texas-San Antonio with a Degree in Art (Digital Media and Painting Focus.) St. Mary's University with a double major in Marketing and Applied Management. Art Awards: Provided illustration work for “Schoolmates” magazine, First Place honorable mention High-school-Tejano Conjunto Poster Contest, First Place Jr. High-Tejano Conjunto Poster Contest, First Regional/ Second Place National-Ocean Pals Poster Contest, Honorable mention-“Why wear a Helmet” Design contest, First place Regional/International United Nations Peace Poster Contest, Art featured in most major galleries in Southwest Texas including: San Antonio, Boerne, Fredericksburg, Georgetown, and Kerrville. Formally introduced to the San Antonio art market on KLRN and KSAT-12. Brick Gallery-Blue Star, Southwest School of Art, Alameda Art Museum, San Antonio Art League Museum , Nueva Vida Showcase in Washington D.C.
